WELLNESS TECHNIQUE 2: EASE LOWER BACK PAIN

TIN TZAT TO CHUNG PILLS(view photo in the POWERFUL STANCE page)

This remedy is known as a "patent" formula in Chinese medicine. Patent formulas are generally able to be taken by everyone with no side effects, and they are generally old traditional formulas, or they are combined using traditional Chinese medicine principles. As mentioned elsewhere in the site, herbs are best taken in COMBINATIONS and not singly.

TIN TZAT TO CHUNG PILLS are extremely beneficial to the heart and kidneys, but the main purpose we have used them for is to heal sore and cramped muscles, especially in the back, and especially in the LOWER back. However, any soft tissue in the body will heal incredibly fast from using this formula.

The two main ingredients are Tian Qi or Tin Chut--also known as pseudoginseng or notoginseng, and Du Zhong or To Chung--rubber tree bark. Like all herbs, these two can cause imbalances if taken alone, so they are combined with 6 other herbs to alleviate side effects and make sure they find the right path in the body. Tian Qi increases circulation, and Du Zhong is a natural muscle relaxer.

The pills are small, as is common in Chinese medicinal formulas, so you can easily adjust the dose. Follow the directions at first so your body can get used to the formula, taking 5 pills at a time with water only. Don't eat or drink anything else for an hour before and 30 minutes afterwards.

Once your body is used to the herbs after a few doses, you can increase the dose and frequency to suit your needs. Remember, these pills are food, not drugs!

Examples of ailments that can be remedied by these pills are: sore muscles from working out, strains and sprains that don't heal easily, back muscle soreness/spasms caused by injuries/stress/illness/diet/depleted sexual essence, job/stress related neck and shoulder pain, and old injuries that don't heal well because they are inside areas of poor circulation such as bones or cartilage.

WELLNESS TECHNIQUE #3: HEAL BRUISES, SPRAINS, AND OLD INJURIES

Practitioners of traditional Asian martial arts have been using herbal liniments to avoid, and heal, all manner of training-related injuries.

The most widely used liniment in traditional Chinese systems is called Dit Da Jow. The name translates literally as "injury tonic" or "injury tonic wine." Dit Da Jow is a combination of herbs in a liquid, usually alcohol, that is rubbed on the skin. Once it absorbs into the skin it increases blood and energy circulation to the area where it is applied.

Dit Da Jow promotes extremely fast healing of many injuries and ailments, including bruises, bone bruises, sprains, strains, pulled muscles/tendons/ligaments, stiff muscles from overuse/weightlifting/stress, and even arthritis. You can even heal an old injury that never quite healed, no matter how old it is! Common examples of old injuries that resurface years later are broken/cracked ribs and joint surgeries that claim to repair the joint.

Dit Da Jow must be used CORRECTLY and DILIGENTLY to have any effect at all. You should make the commitment to follow through in its use, or you shouldn't waste your money on it.

USING DIT DA JOW:

-Use a few drops repeatedly. This is not the same as using a whole lot at once!

-If you have a serious injury, or an old one, you may have to use Jow for up to an HOUR a day to get fast, effective, PERMANENT relief. It might seem unreasonable but, well, it's your pain, and it's up to you how badly you want relief. Many people live with some sort of pain from an old injury. Trouble is, many old injuries can be crippling later in life if a person doesn't have the discipline to address the issue at a younger age.

-Jow is more effective when warmed. Remember, Dit Da Jow is FLAMMABLE if the alcohol content is high enough. Keep Jow away from open flames! An easy way to warm Jow is to place the Jow bottle in a mug with a little hot water in the bottom, and let it sit for a few minutes. Be careful not to melt your Jow bottle. Do not put Jow in the microwave.

-Dit Da Jow, like all herbs, can be rendered less effective or ineffective if it comes in contact with metallic particles. If you are putting Jow on your wrist, take off your watch, and don't wear rings on your fingers while applying it. Also, if you use tap water in your warming mug, make sure you dry it off the bottle before applying the Jow. There are metallic particles in tap water. It can get sucked up into the opening of your bottle and ruin the whole batch!

-Don't wash or lotion your hands immediately before OR after using Jow.

-Never use jow on broken skin!

-Don't use Jow directly on the spine, as it has a powerful effect on the body's energy, and the spine is one of the body's major energy pathways.

-Be careful when pouring Dit Da Jow from the bottle. If it touches your skin, it cannot be put back into the bottle, as this could ruin the whole batch! If you pour out too much, use it on yourself or find a friend!

-Rub slow, hard, and clockwise, no matter what body part you are treating. Clockwise wakes the area up, counter-clockwise puts the area to sleep. Only your Chinese medicine practitioner will (rarely) use a counter-clockwise motion. Your left hand should rotate towards the thumb, and your right hand should rotate towards the little finger. When your skin is almost dry/tacky, use a few more drops. Keep repeating this as often as possible and you will get miraculous results.

PEOPLE WHO NEED JOW:

Skateboarders, fighters and martial artists of all kinds, physical/manual laborers, tattooists, painters, all types of career athletes, and anyone who has an old injury that's still giving them trouble.

DIT DA JOW CAN SPEED THE HEALING OF:

Bruises, cracked/broken/shattered bones, torn cartilage(yes really), strained/sprained joints, sore muscles, and nerve damage/inflammation(carpal tunnel surgery is unnecessary)

Occasionally a bone is so badly broken that it is misaligned or crooked while it is trying to heal. Sometimes in these severe cases, treatment involves letting the bone set, and then re-breaking it to put it in a cast so it can heal straight. If after LENGTHY AND DETAILED discussion with your doctor you decide this is the best course for you, wait til the bone is re-broken again and on its way to healing before applying Jow. There have actually been cases where bone breaks treated with Jow have healed so fast and completely that doctors were reluctant to re-break the bone! Also, if you have pins inserted into your bone to stabilize it while it is healing, you may want to hold off on using jow until after the pins are removed. Jow can make the bone heal around the pins so they are difficult to remove! Factors to consider here are: how long the pins remain in, how many pins are present, and how tricky the doctor anticipates their removal will be. Keep in mind that your doctor has probably never heard of Dit Da Jow and will probably write it off as some sort of sorcery.

There are many recipies for Dit Da Jow. some are useful, some are not.

Please call or email Special Technique and we will introduce you to some time-tested varieties of Dit Da Jow.

WELLNESS TECHNIQUE #4: CLEAR THE LUNGS

The Lohan fruit(fructus momordicae) is a relative newcomer to the world of Eastern/holistic medicine. Drinking tea made from this fruit can clear sputum from the lungs. People with lifelong asthma and other bronchial problems can get fast relief from drinking this tea. It is very inexpensive, and can be purchased at almost any Asian market. The packaging is very convenient as well.

Lo Han Kuo is not harmful, but it can be mildly stimulant, especially for women. Don't drink Lo Han Kuo tea late at night. Drink as much of this tea as you like until your lungs are clear, and then put it on the shelf.

It has not been determined where this herb fits into the acupuncture/ meridian/ five elements model of Chinese medicine, so it is not available in a combination of herbs. As mentioned elsewhere in the site, herbs are best taken in COMBINATIONS prepared specifically for your needs by your Chinese medicine practitioner.

WELLNESS TECHNIQUE #5: SKIN CARE

Most people overlook this fact--your skin is not just a bag for your bones and flesh, it is an organ for processing toxins.

It's easy to determine how well people care for their bodies by looking at their skin. If you fill your body with poison and garbage, and you don't drink enough water, your skin will be prone to breakouts, peeling, cracking, and infections. If you treat your body well, your skin will be smooth, soft, and elastic.

IF YOUR SKIN IS BROKEN:

The body's first defense against infection is the skin. If your skin stays broken for too long, a combination of scabbing, cracking and invasion by microorganisms can occur, placing a tremendous strain on the immune system.

Following is an effective way to heal broken skin QUICKLY: Keep the area clean by washing once or twice a day with a fragrance free soap. Pat the injury dry gently with a clean, new paper towel. Don't scrub the area, don't use peroxide or alcohol, and don't scrape the area dry with your towel. All these influences can destroy new skin cells that are forming!

This healing method involves letting the broken skin breathe by exposing it to the air, while at the same time keeping the area moist. If the area dries out too much while it's trying to heal, it can crack and tear. This cracking happens because a dry hard scab can't flex and bend the same way your skin wants to.

Keep the broken skin moist with LUBRIDERM or some other lotion that is free of fragrance and other irritants, or BACITRACIN ointment.

Bacitracin is necessary if the broken skin is exposed to a lot of dirt or bacteria in the workplace etc. If you cover your skin with something greasy like Bacitracin for several days, your pores might become clogged, resulting in red bumps, irritation, and maybe even worse scabbing! If you use a greasy ointment to heal your skin, use it VERY SPARINGLY, and switch to an unscented lotion after a day or two. Always be sure your hands are clean when touching the affected area.

Almost everyone that uses Lubriderm lotion has good results. If you have any adverse reaction to Lubriderm, just wash it off and start using another no-frills, fragrance free lotion. You can use lotion more often than ointment. A person might use ointment 3 times per day, and lotion 5 or even 10 times a day. It is important that you keep checking up on the healing process by touching the broken skin with a (clean!) finger. If it seems dry to the touch it needs to be moistened. Once again, use the lotion SPARINGLY.

Don't soak your healing skin in the tub, pool or ocean. If you heal fast and correctly, it should be about 5 to 10 days before it is done peeling and you can immerse your recovered skin in a body of water.

Don't expose broken skin to the sun, chafing, or chemicals that can irritate it. These influences can make you take longer to heal, and may produce scar tissue.

Don't scratch or pick the healing injury, as this will make it more likely to scar. If it itches terribly, put more lotion on, or you can gently slap the area.
